Receipts · Warranties · Return deadlines
Proofbox keeps a photo of each receipt, works out when the return window closes and when the warranty ends, and reminds you before it is too late. Everything stays on your phone.
Illustration of the app's Items screen: a “Due soon” shelf with cards such as “Noise-cancelling headphones, return by 17 Oct, 3 days left”, a search field and a list of purchases grouped by store, each with a rubber-stamp badge showing its return or warranty date.
What it does
Six things Proofbox does, and nothing it does not.
Take a photo with your camera app or pick one from your gallery. The picture is stored only inside Proofbox's private folder on your phone.
Enter the purchase date, the return window in days and the warranty in months. Proofbox works out “return by” and “warranty until” and stamps them on the item.
A local notification 3 days before a return deadline and 30 days before a warranty ends. Lead times are yours to change, per item or for everything.
A month-by-month view of every return and warranty date, upcoming or past. Tap a row to jump to the item.
Purchases are grouped by store, with a search field that filters by item or store name. Long-press to select several and tidy up.
Export everything, photos included, to a ZIP file wherever you choose. Import it on a new phone. There is no cloud in between.
How it works
Tap Add, snap or choose the receipt, type the item and the store, and the price if you like.
Pick the return window and the warranty length with quick chips, or type your own. Two stamps preview as you type.
Proofbox checks your deadlines once a day and nudges you before each one passes. Items due within 30 days sit on the “Due soon” shelf.
Privacy
Proofbox does not declare the Internet permission, so it cannot send anything anywhere. There is no account, no analytics and no advertising ID. The only permission it asks for is to show you notifications, and you can say no.

Questions
No. The app does not declare the Android Internet permission, so it cannot connect to the network at all. Everything, including reminders, runs on the device.
In Proofbox's private app folder on your phone, downscaled to save space. Other apps cannot read that folder. Photos you take with the camera app for Proofbox go straight into that folder; photos you pick from your gallery are copied there and the original is left untouched.
Use Settings → Backup → Export to save a ZIP file (a JSON list of your items plus the photos) wherever you choose, then Settings → Backup → Import on the new phone. Android's own device backup may also include Proofbox's data if you have backup turned on in your Android settings.
So it can remind you before a return window closes or a warranty ends. Proofbox checks your deadlines about once a day using Android's WorkManager; it does not use exact alarms. If you decline, the app still works, it just stays quiet.
No. It only counts the days and months you enter. Return windows and warranty terms differ by store and country, so check the receipt or the seller's policy and type in what applies to you.
Proofbox is being prepared for Google Play. In the meantime, questions are welcome at proofbox@kubeharbor.space.
